KarlFursey@hotmail.co.uk | 13-10-2007 - 03:39 - from user-54403714.l6.c3.dsl.pol.co.uk Well done to Lindsey Buck with all her races and events, but would the challenge of taking part in "Britains most boring ultra" apeal to you?
Over the weekend of Oct 6th 2007, yours truly managed to clock up 94.44 miles running round Tooting Bec's 400m tartan track as part of the Sri Chinmoy AC Self Transcendence 24 hour track race. Give it some thought and make Blengdale proud next October. |

karlfursey@hotmail.co.uk | 14-04-2007 - 01:46 - from user-514dab25.l2.c1.dsl.pol.co.uk Has anyone had the unfortunate honour of encountering the number 666 whilst connected with running activities?
Yes, its happened to me, most recently at the Coniston 14 last month, when that was my finishing position in the race.
As you know, that number is associated with the devil, and since that race things have taken a devilishly downward turn for me.
First my performances have got worse, I've dreamt the devil in my sleep fearing the rest of 2007 is going to be a bad year for me, and this comes 21 months after I inadvertantly crossed Devil's Highway, The A666 in Darwen town centre whilst heading to take part in the Aggies Staircase fell race during a devilishly good week off work in the summer of 2005!
Some advice, avoid 666 wherever possible, and if heading into Lancashire, even to travel between Bolton and Blackburn for any reason,STAY OFF THE A666-even if its just to cross that road.
It may catch up on you in the future.
Anything to do with 666 and running is a lethal cocktail that will have an effect on you somehow. |

I ran in your 10 miler on Wednesday. I have been asked to supply medals to Glaxo Hoad Hill Harriers that are similar to yours. Who do you use as your supplier and can you say how much each they were?
Thanks, best regards,

Eric Buckland
eric_w._buckland@ondcp.eop.gov | 11-02-2005 - 21:54 - from esseop01.eop.gov I am the proud (sometimes) father of three sons here in Centreville, Virginia. All of them are runners. As of now, the top of the pile is occupied by my oldest son, Bryan, who is 20 and a Sophomore at James Madison University. His current PRs include an 8:38 3000, 14:42 5000 and 31:25 10,000. My youngest, Jonathan, is 16 and recently ran 9:52 for 3200 meters (the new US high school 2 Mile - go figure).
For the past several weeks, I have been trying to get a few club or old race t-shirts from your side of the ocean for them. Might it be possible to purchase a club t-shirt or two (if you have them) or obtain some shirts from past races? Perhaps we can arrange a swap of some sort? All of my guys wear a Large. Thank you very much for your time and any assistance that you might be able to give me. I look forward to hearing from you.
